First Falls Jr. Ancient Fife & Drum Corps

The First Falls Junior Ancient Fife & Drum Corps is proud to join the tradition started by the Wallingford fife and drum corps dating from the 1870's. It is proud to keep this historic tradition alive by playing the music of Colonial Times.

In the fall of 1995, VFW Post 9965 of Yalesville, CT voted to sponsor a Junior Fife & Drum Corps as a youth activity. The Corps was organized in January of 1996 and began formal practice in February. Our first parade was in June of that year.

First Falls is the original name of the village of Yalesville. There is a natural fall in the river behind the former Britannia Spoon Building.

The Corps plays period music from the 1700s to early 1900s. Our uniform is patterned after the uniform of the colonial militia in the period, 1780-1810.
