The stirring sounds of the 1800s are brought to
life by the Civil War Troopers through their unique and contemporary
arrangements of 19th Century field music.
Founded in 1982, the Troopers perform in parades, musters
and at festivals throughout the Hudson Valley and the New
England states. They have appeared in halftime shows at West
Point and on television's popular morning show Good Day, New
York.
Through their performances, the Troopers strive to foster
an appreciation of fife and drum music. To educate the public
about the history and traditions of American field music,
they host an annual Muster, bringing fife and drum corps from
New England and other states together to "muster on the village
green" in a tradition dating back to colonial times.
