The Sailing Masters
of 1812

Essex, CT

The Sailing Masters of 1812 was organized in 1963. The uniform worn by the Corps members is that of the third officer, or "Sailing Master", on board U.S. Naval ships during the 1810-1815 period.

The Corps performs extensively up and down the Eastern Seaboard including annual participation in the Boothbay Harbor, Maine Windjammer Days Festival Parade. Other notable performances include the launch ceremonies for the "Privateer Lynx", a War of 1812 schooner reproduction, three turnaround cruises aboard USS Constitution in Boston, and three Beating Retreat Ceremonies along with the Bermuda Regiment Band in Bermuda.

The Sailing Masters are always looking for new fifers, drummers, and color guard members as well as new and exciting performance opportunities.
